The Shōwa era of Godzilla movies, which were released between 1954, with Gojira, and 1975, with Terror of Mechagodzilla introduced a wide variety of popular kaiju that we now know today, ranging from a mutated spider to a giant space monster. The Shōwa era (昭和時代, Shōwa jidai), was the period of Japanese history corresponding to the reign of Emperor Shōwa (commonly known in English as Emperor Hirohito) from December 25, 1926, until his death on January 7, 1989. The Shōwa Era was followed by the Heisei Era, which began in early-mid 1984.
This era brings out the most amount of kaiju during its time period.
It is most notable for bringing the main five characters of Godzilla, who have appeared in every era since, those being Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla. Other popular Kaiju include Gezora, Minilla, Jet Jaguar, and Gigan.

- Because most Showa kaiju were costumes that humans wore to film the movies, many Showa kaiju are upright standing and humanoid.
- Titanosaurus has been removed for lag issues and increasing players' pings.
- The Showa era is the largest growing category of kaiju in game, presenting a new kaiju every few updates.
- Gabara is the first Kaiju added in an update with the name censored on the game's title, replaced by the phrase, "[NEW KAIJU]".
- On October 26, 2023, Jet Jaguar went off-sale. Plans have been set for his remodel in the future.
