Kamata-kun (蒲田くん), also known as Shin Form 2, is one of the 4 forms of Shin Godzilla. He was formerly a starter kaiju that was free before being replaced by Showa Gigan. He now costs 1,000 G-Cells.

Overview

In-Game Description

"The second form of Shin Gojira. Nicknamed Kamata-Kun (蒲田くん), after the district of Tokyo he ravaged, this malformed monstrosity caused unprecedented terror and devastation immediately upon making landfall, Kamata then started destroying ports and buildings before turning into his 3rd form. Despite this, however Kamata has gained the appreciation of many, often called “cute” or "adorable".

Main Overview

People rarely play as Kamata-kun. However, when they do, it is usually for memes or trolling. Because he is underestimated a lot, most people tend to let their guard down just to mess with it. However, if used correctly, he can do tons of damage. And for a kaiju with only three attacks, he does a fair amount of damage. Kamata-kun performs badly on land. Instead, a Kamata-kun player should try to play around water. Kamata-kun is significantly better in water like gezora

Combat Tips

A Kamata-kun player should try to lure an enemy close to water. Kamata-kun becomes stronger in water, so it’s important that you fight less on land and try to force engagements in water instead. When in water, the best strategy is to attack enemies in their blind spots or simply bait out attacks and hit them when they can’t trade. If you aren’t close to any water, it is very likely that you’ll die unless an enemy isn’t paying attention.

Counterplay

Kamata-kun can be countered easily by trading or outranging Kamata-kun. Avoid engaging Kamata-kun in water and you should be fine.

Trivia

  • Modelled by: Sandbar3D
  • Rigged by: Hurricane
  • Animated by: Kyorce
  • Kamata-kun's old model had no roars. Hitting the roar buttons would result in nothing being heard. Kamata-kun has now been given modified, high-pitched Godzilla roars as a replacement.
    • While in Shin Godzilla (the movie) Kamata-kun doesn't roar or make any verbal sounds but in-game does, making high pitched Godzilla roars.
  • Kamata-kun was originally named "Shin Form 2".
  • Kamata-kun has got a fresh remodel, and so did its Christmas counterpart, Kamadolph-kun, which got a remodel in Christmas 2023, on Sunday, December 24.
  • During the April Fools' Day 2022 event, a scaled-up version of this kaiju was added known as Kamata-earth, most likely a reference to 2021's Godzilla Earth.
  • This kaiju's gills used to have a blood effect underwater.
  • Kamata-kun is the perfect parallel to his other forms, as while Shinagawa-kun focuses on speed and Kamakura-san on health, Kamata-kun prioritizes on damage alone.
  • If you turn transparencies off, Kamata's pupils will not show thus resulting in unnerving soulless eyes. This is most likely a bug.
  • When it got buffed in a rebalance update, it was made to have more base health that its 3rd Form, Shinagawa-kun. Now having 3150 while the 3rd Form has 150 less, being 3000. This hints that it could potentially be getting a buff soon.
